I have had experience with pinhole "spy" cameras for years from back in 1990, the Brotherhood began as a janitor stealing from us in the middle of the night. Considering that was about 10 + year old technology I thought I would buy the Wireless Color camera today was at least as good as that. I was wrong.This camera gets up and running quite easily and with some adjustment is obtained by a photo. Note that, if not properly regulated, there is absolutely no images. You get to be almost exactly in the mood to have a clear picture. Want all the pieces are needed in the box, the camera, receiver, audio / video cable, battery adapter, small screws when you screw on the camera. I have a city lamppost outside my house, and was always a lot of my old car to take decent video after sunset. This camera literally gave me a black screen. The only reason I knew it worked when the occasional car headlight then I have only two "points" of the lights more and nothing else could see past. This camera is completely useless outside at night. Worse, I was up early this morning at 5:30 am, there was enough sun as the "dawn" are - you could see outside the window without much problem ... But then I saw the signal from the camera as well as dark black as it was in the middle of the night. I do not have a picture on the camera for another good hour, until the sun was much stronger.The field of view and the absence of any image in the "dark" is my main reason for the low rating.Even by another user of the manual is a warning and shows you the A / C adapters are not interchangeable with the wrong one would be using the camera to the receiver was bad, but the A / C adapter included are identical, same model, 8 -volt, 500 mA adapter.

I will continue my review by saying that I am an advanced computer user and have a good introduction to the understanding of the network, modem, optimizations, etc. That said, looked at me almost 6 hours to get this camera! There are many forums for creating research help you set it, but it will take some 'time! A lot of time.

The indications are very difficult to understand and written in English very bad. Do not worry about technical support, because, as the website says: "Foscam.us not provide support or warranty on behalf of Amazon, eBay or other retailers, no matter what." Foscam to help, just directed by Foscam. This is a strange attitude for a legitimate company to take, especially if I assume that Amazon does not sell a knock-off Foscam product. But I digress. . .

The camera itself seems to be of good quality. I have a problem with blurry images after all up and running, but then discovered that the lens by unscrewing the face of the camera and turn the focus moves the image in focus.

The only other problem is the brightness / contrast. You can add up so the picture is perfect on the day, but then suffer the twilight and darkness all images in image quality. I have not yet found a middle ground for these settings. The images are acceptable but not great.

The e-mail notifications are awesome! Every time the camera senses movement, it captures 6 images and loads them on your e-mail. I mean, so I received the e-mail immediately on my smartphone and I can see what is happening. If I want to see the action live, I just open the IP camera and I can see the live feed from my camera. Can not get much better!

In total for a $ 100, you will not find anything comparable to it. It is a right for non-critical surveillance camera outside. I am happy with my purchase, even if you spent a lot 'of time trying to get it set up.

I bought two of these Foscam FI8918W not long ago, and I would say that works too well. Are not too difficult to configure if you do what you do. I could see a problem of  Foscam FI8918W institution, if you were just an ordinary computer users because they get to your work without wires can be a bit 'difficult. You'll have a pretty good wireless router need multiple cameras to work. If you have a slow connection or a bad router, your'e going to a delay in the video to see. The motion detectors are working pretty well so far. The night vision works surprisingly well. I see only darkness all around the room through the camera with the space. You may need to adjust the lens when you get the camera out of the box. They do this by simply turning the lens with your fingers until the picture becomes clearer. I would say the only downsides I can find is that sometimes the colors are faded. Navy actually show a clear blue sky to the camera. And the audio is not even the highest quality. Also be careful when you buy these cameras Foscam FI8918W. You're doing a lot of fakes. I have seen many of them on eBay in particular. They look exactly the same, but if you go to update it. The camera has been walled up, and no longer needed. So be sure to purchase here on Amazon.com. I believe that the option for 24 / 7 to the recording software is required. Too bad that does not belong, you know that other software capable of recording on a hard drive. I would say that if you do not want too much money on a surveillance camera. Then go with Foscam FI8918W
